Harper Matthews is a proud southern California native, world traveler, and avid foodie. As a two-time graduate of Pepperdine University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Education, she has a passion for helping others discover and reach their full potential. Harper began her career in Higher Education where she used her passion for developing talent and inspiring excellence to support emerging leaders and improve access points to higher education, especially for students of color. After 9 years of working within the University system, Harper felt called to apply her skills and desires to inspire the next generation of leaders, in the corporate space, transitioning into a role as a University Recruiter for McKinsey & Co. in Washington DC.
Inspired by the many inspirational women in her life and a deep conviction for giving back to her community, Harper spends much of her free time serving with organizations that aim to build strong women, advocate for youth, and improve the lives of communities of color. Harper brings her deep value for building authentic community and her skills in recruitment, retention, and member experience to many of her volunteer roles, including her role as the NULYP Membership Services Chair.
When Harper's not busy channeling her inner “Girl Boss”, geeking out over leadership development theories (she loves a good Brene Brown quote), or thinking about how her skills can help address some of the greatest needs in this world, Harper spends her free time taking dance classes, cooking, traveling, and posting “day in the life” videos of her adorable (but naughty) corgipoo pup, Kenzo Kash.
