Courtney "CJ" Cross-Johnson is an accomplished communications strategist and consultant who has carved out a niche in mission-aligned digital storytelling across multiple platforms. With a degree from the University of Miami, CJ’s journey has taken her from a marketing volunteer in HAULYP & DFWULYP to a respected full-time independent contractor. Her professional evolution includes roles as a secondary educator, administrator, and now a versatile communications expert for sectors like education, political campaigns, and service providers. In 2020, she launched 21Twelve Creative Co., specializing in social media management, content creation, and digital strategy, collaborating with over 30 brands, including the National Urban League. Recognized by the African American Marketing Association as one of the "50+ Black Marketers On The Rise," she has recently led marketing and communications for NULYP’s bEastCon 2024 and the 2024 Southern Region Conference. 

Now based in the Philadelphia area (New Jersey to be exact) with plans to transition to the DMV, CJ is expanding her business to focus on diversity in stock media for individuals and small corporations. A strong advocate for mental health awareness and equity, she volunteers as a leader with the SHARE Food Program in Philadelphia. Her passion for storytelling, advocacy, and community service drives her commitment to empower others, especially those from non-traditional marketing backgrounds. As she grows her company and gives back to the community, CJ remains dedicated to the mantra, "Once an Urban Leaguer, always an Urban Leaguer.” CJ is currently an active member of both NExT Philadelphia and Thursday Network as well as the proud Social Media Consultant for the Urban League of Union County.
