Jason Mitchell was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. Jason also received a Master of Business Administration in Data Intelligence and Finance from St. Joseph’s University, also in Philadelphia, PA.
Jason currently works as a Program Manager for a Fortune 50 Retailer where he oversees tactical teams that identifies and drives revenue business initiatives to improve customer experience. Jason also currently serves on the leadership team of his current employers’ Black Business Resource Group. In that capacity Jason assists with employee engagement and talent pipeline strategies. At a previous role with a former employer, Jason was instrumental in serving as Marketplace Co-Chair for an employee resource group for African-Americans where he was instrumental in the groups’ formation as a member of the steering committee.
Jason is the current Policy & Procedures Chair for the National Urban League Young Professionals and is the Immediate Past President of NExT Philadelphia, which is the young professional’s affinity group of the Urban League of Philadelphia. While serving as President, Jason not only sat as a Board Member for the Urban League of Philadelphia, but he helped transition NExT Philadelphia to virtual programming in response to the pandemic and led the chapter to achieve honors as the Emerging Chapter of the Year for the Eastern Region of the National Urban League Young Professionals during the 2019-2020 campaign. Before serving in his Presidential capacity, Jason also served as Treasurer and Community Service Chair, respectively, for NExT Philadelphia.
In other capacities, Jason served as the Nominations Chair for the National Pan-Hellenic Council of Southeastern Pennsylvania and is a Registered Parliamentarian under the National Association of Parliamentarians. Jason is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated and currently resides in Charlotte, NC with his wife and two daughters.
