Jason C. Grove, founder of BrickLine Management & Consulting, and President of the Urban League of Essex County Young Professionals is a native of Newark, NJ. Jason holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Norfolk State University and a Masters of Arts in Urban Affairs from the City University of New York - Queens College. As leader among millennials, Jason has developed a reputation for creating business opportunities for small businesses, entrepreneurs, and community based non-governmental organizations. His success as connector and broker has led to various opportunities and acknowledgments.
In 2015, The New Jersey Young Democrats of America Black Caucus listed Jason among New Jersey’s 50 most powerful young Black Democrats. In 2016, his expertise as a campaign manager led to the successful re-election of Councilwoman Donna K. Williams, Orange Township, NJ. In 2017, Insider NJ ranked Jason #55 out of 100 on it's African American Political Power List in Honor of Black History Month - listed among notable names like New Jersey Senator Cory Booker (#1) and Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka (#2).
As an affiliate staff member and consultant at the Urban League of Essex County, Jason worked to assist hundreds of city residents in obtaining long-term job placement and career opportunities. His community involvement also includes participation in Occupy the Schools and My Brother’s Keeper –Newark, working with elected officials and grass-roots organizers to build safe and thriving communities for youth and young adults in Newark, NJ.
Under his leadership, the YP’s have developed robust professional development, education and social programs. Most notably the College Access Initiative, in partnership with Rutgers University’s Newark City of Learning Collaborative. Since 2015, this partnership has engaged over 1K NJ high school students and parents with SAT Prep, Free College Applications, Financial Aid Education and Success for Students of Color at Predominantly White Institutions, resulting in over 500 local high school seniors receiving free college applications and admission to the colleges and universities of their choice with a 96% college acceptance rate.
