Kurt D. Rose is a Milwaukee native who relocated to Madison, WI in 2011. Kurt has over 14 years of HR experience, currently serving as the Employee and Labor Relations Manager for the City of Madison. Professional development and lifetime learning are important to Mr. Rose. He is a proud and active alum of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He holds a Bachelors of Art in Speech with an emphasis in Organizational Communications and a Masters of Science in Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health. He also holds graduate certificates in Human Resources Management and Professional Ergonomics. Kurt also holds 6 professional certifications in Human Resources. He was highlighted as part of the 2020 class of 40 under 40 in InBusiness Madison magazine and completed the inaugural Madison cohort of the leadership development program Forward 48. He was recognized by Madison 365 as a 2022 Most Influential Black Leader of WI and most recently named the 2023 Young Professional of the Year. Kurt is active in the community. He served as the President of the Urban League of Greater Madison Young Professionals from 2019 to 2023 and currently serves as the Immediate Past President for the chapter. He also serves as the National Urban League Young Professionals Central Region Council of President's Mentor. He was recognized as a National President of the Month by the National Urban League Young Professionals. In addition to his duties with ULGMYP, Kurt previously served as a Board Member of the Madison Ballet and is an active member of the Madison Alumni chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated.
