Christopher Bruce, Esq. is the Policy Counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union of Georgia. In this role, Chris oversees the ACLU of Georgia’s state-wide policy program and legislative agenda. He lobbies members of the Georgia legislature, the Governor’s office and mayors of local municipalities. He regularly testifies at legislative committee meetings representing the ACLU of Georgia’s interests. Chris is also the managing partner of The Bruce Firm, LLC which focuses on defending young African-American males charged with their first criminal infraction. He fights valiantly for his clients to make sure they don't obtain a criminal record that could affect the rest of their lives.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Chris graduated Cum Laude from Georgia State University Honors Program with a degree in Political Science with a concentration in Governmental Affairs and a minor in Sociology. He later attended the University of Georgia School of Law where he served as an Honors' Court Member and Vice-President of the Black Law Students Association.

Outside of his work with the ACLU of Georgia and his law firm, Chris serves his community in several ways. He was appointed to the DeKalb County Board of Ethics during a very tumultuous period in the county. He continued to advocate for change by founding the DeKalb Young Professionals, an organization focused on retaining and recruiting young professional leaders through social, educational and networking events.Chris is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., LEAD Atlanta alumnus, Fellow of the New Leaders Council, member of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorney’s, and Executive Board member of The Gate City Bar Association. He is a recipient of the Outstanding Atlanta Award and was on the cover of Atlanta Magazine’s Millennial Issue. He is a super fan of the Super Bowl 51 Championship team.
